Recently work has been so hectic and I've been unable to keep up my daily post rate. So while I wait for it to calm down, here is some outfit inspiration for those long days at the office...

Using these outfits as inspiration each day is the only thing that's making me jump out of bed in the morning! Best part of the day...getting dressed!!

Burberry Prorsum Menswear AW12

Lots of double breasted tailoring with layered outerwear

In Milan we saw Burberry showcasing their Prorsum AW12 collection. I'm a huge fan of Burberry for guys, my boyfriend has a few jumpers and the likes and they are very well made, and the attention to detail is fantastic, which, of course, they have not failed to showcase here too. There is a strong British theme focusing on creating a 'Tailored Countryman', with lots of tweeds, quilted wax, corduroy, velvet and herringbone wools and the beloved flat-cap (although a little oversized)! A mostly neutral base but with strong flashes of claret, cobalt blue, marigold and olive green work so well and compliment the hunting/fishing/farming -man theme

Each Gentleman is styled with the most amazing accessories too, I especially love the spiked leather gloves and umbrella's with duck heads as the handles.

Mr Christopher Bailey has sent a very clear message with this show...he wants you guys out there to bring back the Traditional English Gentleman. Please. Thanks.

Bravo Bailey, Bravo.

The Golden Girls

My oh my!
This year's Golden Globes was a masterclass on some of the hottest trends for S/S '12. For hair  & makeup we have the glowy dewy skin; smokey eye; loose relaxed waves and soft up do's.
For the dresses it was dominated by wedding dress chic.

First the girls who rocked the Smokey Eye:
Nicole Ritchie

Emma Stone

Glowy Dewy Skin & soft relaxed up do done so perfectly here. Charlize's skin is complimented beautifully by the delicate pink Dior gown, and sublty crystalised headband, and the natural make-up. Hair & make-up :Band on trend! The gown she wore is also a favourite of the Fashion Fiend.

Charlize Theron
Jessica Alba

Jessica has been the talk of The Hills and beyond because of her striking appearance on Sunday. Her glowing skin looked as though it was covered in a light dusting of gold, and her make-up and dress were perfect. Her look has been achieved with a sheer foundation, concealer and highlighter, to get the look, apply the highlighter everywhere the light hits...bridge of nose, outside of eye socket, cheek bones and your collar bones!

Reese Witherspoon was another dewy skinned beaut on Sunday. Matched perfectly with her beachy waves her make-up is subtle and natural and allows her dress to POP as the focus!

Next onto those fabulous gowns!
Dior
I do really love this dress, I love the low plunge, the colour, the short front and the trail matched with the simply hair & makeup. However, if would have preferred a simpler shoe, my eye is drawn to the broad ankle strap. Minus one point Charlize.

Roberto Cavalli

Kate Beckinsale wore a strapless Cavalli gown with delicate sequenced embellishment and chiffon pleat around the skirt. She always looks very elegant, but always chooses a very safe option- not complaining! :)

Piper Perabo in Theyskens Theory

Piper made a dramatic entrance in the full bodied gown. I do like the shape and colour dress in this picture, since you can't see the transparency of the skirt, nor can you see her twirling or kicking and generally making a spectacle of herself!

Elle Macpherson takes the wedding theme a little too far. A stunning gown by Zac Posen all the same.

Perfection. By Jessica Alba in Gucci

Here are a few of my favourite coloured gowns from the night...

Zooey Daschanel - Prada

Emma Stone- Lanvin

Sofia Vergara- Vera Wang

CAN'T GO WITHOUT MENTIONING
Zooey's Tweet...
"I was wearing a gown but my nails were wearing tuxedos..."

Who made a fashion statement for you? Who was a fashion disaster?

Make Up Mondays!

Avoiding the January blues, I headed down to London for a short break to see the bf before starting back at work. I went with all the best intentions to capture some famous London Street Style for the blog... But no. Sleep and food took over and I was yet again far too lazy. We did however, venture out on the Saturday to the London Boat Show as guests of Fairline. I wasn't expecting to have quite as much fun as I did however,  the endless amount of free champagne in the VIP section did help.

After we had drank the bar dry and finished wandering on and off the luxurious 100ft+ motor yachts, we headed back into central London for some shopping and a bite to eat. And some bite to eat this turned out to be- more on this later.
Just now I thought I would share some of the goodies I got....

I had to try the NARS Bronzer & Blush after reading and hearing so many amazing things about it! I'm a Benefit Hoola or MAC girl at heart, but NARS...I'm surprised to say is taking pride of place in my daily make-up bag! The Colour of the Bronzer is 'Laguna' & the Blush is...em...'Deep Throat'. Less said on that, the better! The next thing in the goodie bag is the multiple from NARS 'Lamu' colour. Works well on cheek bones and around eyes for a night time shimmer.

The By Terry Touch Expert works well on bags round the eyes, however, I think I'll be sticking to my trusted YSL Touche Eclat in the future to fight the bags.

Normally I wear a Clarins Tinted Moisturiser underneath my light dusting of Bare Minerals Foundation to even out my skin tone, however this Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser (Nude) is working wonders. It's light on the skin and I've stopped wearing my Bare Minerals Foundation for days when my skin isn't too bleuch. Another new love is the Chantecaille Lip Chic (Geranium). Moisturising, great colour, and smells delightful too!

Overall some great new additions for my make-up bag!
Anything else worth trying? xo

Roll out the Red Carpet!

Hollywood is whipping itself into a frenzy preparing for the Awards Season... detoxing, dieting, tanning, trimming, waxing and working out, and that's just the guys! I don't envy the stylists, who's heads are on the chopping block, to choose the perfect collection of beautiful couture on offer to who - I assume- would be somewhat 'tricky' clients. Included in the stressful time are of course the designers, publicists and actresses who spend coutnless hours trying to find perfect outfits that may go down in fashion history, hopefuly for the right reasons!
At the Oscars last year Red dominated the night, with scarlet gowns worn by Anne Hathaway (Valentino), Sandra Bullock (Vera Wang) and Jennifer Hudson (Versace).  Also high on the style agenda were shades of lavender and grape and berry, chosen by Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchet & Scarlett Johansson.

Here were some more of the best from the past years award season...

Eva Longoria (Zac Posen)

Lea Michele (Oscar de la Renta)

January Jones (Versace)

Halle Berry & Mila Kunis (Elie Saab)

 Cate Blanchett (Givenchy)

Natalie Portman (Rodarte)

Sandra Bullock (Gucci)

We'll soon be perusing the pages of magazines scrutinising every inch to their near perfect appearance. It's time to place your bets on who will be crowned best dressed...

Who did you rate or slate last year?xo
