'I Dye'...Bananas

After my post with Amanda Booth modelling for Wildfox's new collection (here) I have been obsessed with trying out funky hair dyes. However I ran into a slight problem when I remembered I'm actually a  complete chicken when it comes to doing anything 'out there' with my hair.  Now, 'out there' to me is getting more than a couple of inches off my length and maybe going ONE shade brighter...so you can see my problem.
But I have found a solution. Well 2...

First being Hair Chalks

Why am I not surprised to hear Lauren Conrad has tried and tested it for me already?

Using soft hair chalks via Rackk and Ruin you get a the same effect with dye, without the commitment!
Simply twist the hair, rub on the chalk, brush brush brush and voila- perfect pastels!

Solution number 2...Hair Colour App from the App Store!
Have great fun changing your hair colour and sending photos to family and friends. The majority of mine fell for it hook, line and sinker...then they remembered who sent them the photo...

Has anyone been brave enough to to the tie dye hair for real? Send a link!

Instagram Instants

Work again is stopping me update the blog as often as I'd like. This makes me very upset indeed. So instead of just completely abandoning it, here are some instagram instants of what's keeping me busy over the past week or so...

Pancake Tuesday was a bitter sweet day...quite literally. Stuffing every piece of chocolate or crisps in my mouth as humanly possible since it wont be crossing my lips for another 40 days. A week in... and I'm struggling..big time! I made a load of Scottish pancakes (difference being they are thick and fluffy), some with ice cream, some with mixed fruit, a classic lemon and sugar batch and of course one with an oozy chocolatey souffle. The recipe was from here James Martin the Pudding King! This was the best way to say goodbye to my faithful friend chocolate...until we meet again!

Family dinner @ Brian Maule at Chardonne d'Or

The Assiette of Pork on Creamed Mashed Potato (smoothest mash ever) and a Sherry Vinegar Flavoured Jus.
WOAWZERS - Highly recommend!

A wild bacelorette night, that started out very classy...

See I had an excuse... or 5!

Prohibition Glamour

Last Wednesday Bold Souls held a Prohibition Glamour night at Rainbow Rooms in Royal Exchange Square Glasgow. The night showcased 3 mini fashion shows featuring 4 Scottish designers- Nadine Schloen, ChouChou, Lilly Wiggler and Rene Walrus, the theme being 1920's glamour.
A good night with goody bag and a complimentary Kopparberg to boot!
I went along with a few friends for some inspiration and ideas about one of their own fashion events...more on that soon!

First out was Nadine Scholen-

Lilly Wiggler's lingerie set...

This was my favourite set of the evening. The designs nodded towards the 1920's theme like the above Art Deco patterned body. I'm a bit of a lingerie fanatic of late, and I am in love with the triangular shaped lace bra set. The stockings had the sexy black line up the back of the leg too!

The grand finale was Glasgow's staple ChouChou Couture's preview for the SS12 collection.

There were lots of hoods, all in ones and individual pieces; all in very interesting materials and colours. I liked the playsuit and the jewellery that was styled with it- don't think it's really my thing though. However it was an interesting preview into designs that have recently been added to ASOS market place. If you are intersted in owning anything from ChouChou, you'll find it here. (I actually prefer the stuff on ASOS!)

Rene Walrus had her jewellery peices styled with each mini fashion show. The pieces brought the looks together, and her headpieces are pretty amazing!

While at the event, I have to admit I was more interested in the people viewing the fashion shows. The style was so interesting and diverse! I wish I had the brass balls to ask more people for their photos, however I only managed 3... one being my friend....its a start though!

We all noticed this girl when she walked in- very plain outfit but her accessories and makeup made her stood out! Her rings were a mix of highstreet, and vintage, bag Alexander Wang, and her skyhigh boots were from chockersshoes- great website that do amazing Louboutin style copies!

Her friend had a very cute Chanel bag, I couldn't ignore such a classic bag.

And then the stunning Heather! Again it was the collar necklace that caught my eye, as it really dressed up this otherwise simple outfit.

Shoe envy. The perfect pair of ankle boots.

A good night to see what was coming out of Scotland's fashion scene. I will definitely go back to another Bold Soul's event in the future, and so should you if you get the chance! Follow them on Facebook here for news about up coming events.

I have lots of other outfit posts coming very soon...so stay tuned!

We can't ignore the style coming from those lucky gits in the front row either...
Amber Heard & Jessica Alba @ Michael Kors

Blake Lively

The Olsens

Kate Bosworth

Rosie Huntington Whiteley

All in all a very jealous and exhausted fashion fiend. Stay tuned!

The Grammy's 2012

Last year we had disaster, after disaster....Lady Gaga in The Egg, Rihanna with the bizarre white fur/tinsel wrapped dress, and Nicki Minaj's animal print ensemble. However, the 54th Annual Grammy Awards 2012 was quite the opposite.

Here are my a few of my favourite.

Woawzers.

Rihanna in Armani
This is the ultimate LBD. She looks absolutely banging!
She co-designed this with Armani; she wanted something like Michelle Pfieffier in Scarface 'sexy but gangsta'. I think its safe to say she has achieved it.
I particularly love the delicate gold body chain she's added, which seems to be her trademark piece, that has cropped up on the beach, and now the red carpet. The effortlessly sexy look was finished off with her new tousled blonde hair and sultry make-up. She later added a darker lip. My god it just keeps getting better and better.
Gym Inspo anyone?

You have been officially forgiven for last years' faux pas.

Carrie Underwood in Gomez-Gracia
A very elegant, very sparkly red carpet gown. Not dis-similar to Katy Perry's Elie Saab dress.

Kelly Rowland in Alberta Ferretti

Kelly looks stunning in this figure hugging gown. The tulle top is heavily embellished and is beautifully balanced with the form fitting skirt. But let's face it, she could wear a bin-bag and still look smokin' hot.

Now here's someone I never thought I'd be praising her outfit choice.
Paris Hilton.
Where there's a red carpet, there's Paris Hilton.

For me, hand's down, Rihanna was Best Dressed.
Who did it for you?
