DIY Candy Man

The Bolo Tie

In theory it's a simple piece of neck wear, but there is something kind of rebellious and fun about a bolo tie, like a metallic trimmed f-you to the man and his pricey silk cravats. I love trying out a masculine quirk on an outfit, either structured shoulders, boyfriend blazers, brogues, bow ties.
This was a natural progression.

Take one Joe Malone gift-box ribbon & a vintage gold earring and voila, a DIY bolo/ western tie.

Candy Man or Barber...either way I love it!
This is so easy to do. You use a ribbon like me- any coloured ribbon you have lying around and any statement earring will look brilliant, just play about with it and have fun!

Or with a plain shirt, choose a silky printed scarf, fold neatly and tie it through a cocktail ring will have a similarly eye catching effect!

I Got Chills...

Girls. If you have been swithering about buying these Grease-esq American Apparel trousers, read on and swither no more!

American Apparel have created the comfiest, figure hugging, most flattering trousers ever. These suit everyone I have seen wearing them.  Honestly. I convinced my friend to buy a pair after I wore them and professed how comfy and 'control pant' like they were. They really do suck you in!
She was won over and looked bangin'!
Only thing is, wear a very high cut, g-string, VLP is a BIG no, no in these babies.

Killer Shoes- Monkia Chiang

I wear these mostly dressed up at night, however, they can be dressed down with converse, plain white T and a cute denim jacket!

Disco Pants are available in lots of different colours from here

How to...LA in UK

A little later than expected, but here we go!
First of many How To's....

Coloured Pastel Jeans

These girly pinks are from Zara £35.99

And these..my personal fave are Topshop numbers £38.00
There are lots of variations out there, I prefer these two for the tight fit and the super soft material!

Short Suits
I love this short suit from The Kooples. The colour is beautiful and the cut is timeless. 360 Euros

Ok, I know this isn't technically UK...but it is the right side of the pond!

A more affordable version with cute neon pink trimming from ASOS £35 for the jacket & £40 for the shorts.

As I have mentioned before the LA girls love to keep it simple, but really go for it with their accessories. At times it can be overload of rings, but other times a quirky piece that stands out.

Accessories
ASOS stock the amazing Cambridge Satchels in all sizes and colours. Here are a couple

Pricing between £90-£120

Fashionology, an online boutique based in The Netherlands (near the UK counts too...) does fantastic LA style jewellery at a very reasonable price, worth a look!

Silver Shark Tooth Ring (50 Euro)

Large Claw Necklace (26 Euro)

Silver Pointy Ring (70 Euro)

Spike Ear Cuff - ASOS £16

Doll Boutique is a fantastic UK based (Scotland) online boutique ran by another LA lover. The styling nods towards the Californian coast and stocks a lot of the brands we fly there for!

Jeffery Campbell Lita Spikes (£125) Mink Pink Tube Skirt (£40)

Hope this helps to bring some LA style to your wardrobe!
